Owner, Deena Castello Awarded "NKBA's Top 30 Under 30"

Owner and Senior Designer, Deena Castello of La Jolla’s Cabochon Tile and Stone and newly opened Lavish The Bath Gallery has been selected in a group of young, leading professionals that have been carefully selected as the “Top 30 Under 30”. The goal of the program is to acknowledge while assist these individuals in recognizing new opportunities in the industry to continue their growth. Deena will attend the annual Kitchen and Bath conference (KBIS, Kitchen and Bath Industry Show) compliments of the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) this April, held in New Orleans.
As a leader in her industry, Deena will explore the KBIS show floor and take center stage to present her findings to the attendees of trends, innovations, emerging business models and the overall direction and what’s to come of the kitchen and bath industry. Ms. Castello joined Cabochon Tile & Stone (7646 Girard Ave.) in 2005, immediately building a following of clientele while studying interior design at the local Design Institute of San Diego. In 2010, under Deena’s direction, Cabochon became a Waterworks (once had their own storefront on Girard Ave.) boutique partner expanding their offerings beyond surfaces to include bathtubs, vanities, plumbing and accessories; thus becoming the only showroom of it’s kind in the village of La Jolla.
Deena has also recently opened Lav·ish The Bath Gallery (7644 Girard Ave.) this month, further enhancing La Jolla’s design district, this first-class showroom features specialty kitchen and bath products. As Deena was traveling on vacation in Rome, she came across a showroom with distinct bathtubs that looked as though they needed to be in an art gallery rather than a bath showroom, thus Lav·ish The Bath Gallery was curated. A year later, she is proud to exclusively showcase the Italian line, Devon & Devon featuring custom quartz bathtubs, artistic vanities and a selection of decorative plumbing. In addition to Devon & Devon, Lav·ish is excited to showcase other domestic and European lines that are driven by design and dedicated to inspiring everyone’s idea of their own lavish bath.
